Modular Synthesizer Ensemble
The “Modular Synthesizer Ensemble” is a socio-acoustic and participative music project and gives everyone, also without any musical previous knowledge, the possibility to make music in an ensemble. The participants work together to create a piece and work actively and self-dependent in each phase of the project. They experience the creation of electronic sounds, they experiment, improvise, and compose. The workshop will be completed by recording the work. It will be sent to the participants.
Also Ernst Krenek’s Buchla modular synthesizer, this rarity at the Salon Krenek, will be shown and demonstrated to the participants.
Each project begins with a practical and vivid introduction to the basic functions of modular synthesizers. After the introduction the participants work independently with their instrument. A simple manual and personal support will help them to create their own first sounds. With the new sound material, a composition will be developed in the group and rehearsed for a recording or a presentation.
