Krenek Serenade 2024

Event

Ernst Krenek's ‘Reisebuch aus den österreichischen Alpen’ and Otto M. Zykan and M. Mautner's ‘Unterösterreichisches Liederbuch’ are two important song cycles of the 20th century that are juxtaposed.

The work of Zykan and Krenek is at the centre of research of the Ernst-Krenek-Institute and the Archiv der Zeitgenossen - both based in Krems. Chamber singer Adrian Eröd complements this song journey with a selection of travelling songs by Franz Schubert. Irene Suchy, musicologist and Ö1 host, will share some memories of the life and work of Otto M. Zykan (1935-2006) with the audience.
