Ernst Krenek Forum – 10th Anniversary

Festivities on Saturday, 13 October 2018 at 2 p.m.

Celebration on Saturday, 13 October 2018 in the Ernst Krenek Forum on Minoritenplatz in Krems!

We are very happy to be able to announce three premieres: at the very beginning the premiere of the festive fanfare “For an Uncommon Man,” composed especially for the anniversary by Kurt Schwertsik. The new, seventh volume of the Ernst Krenek Studies, “Ernst Krenek – not only composer,” will be available hot off the presses. The festive highlight is the gala concert in the evening in which the premiere of Till Alexander Körber’s orchestral version of Krenek’s Reisebuch aus den Österreichischen Alpen (Travel Book from the Austrian Alps), op. 62, will be heard with tenor Alexander Kaimbacher and the Webern Chamber Philharmonic of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under the direction of HK Gruber.

And this much we can reveal: there will also be a surprise after the concert!

Further highlights of the festive program starting at 2 p.m. include ensemble Federspiel and singer Anna Clare Hauf, the Modern Art Ensemble of the Krems Music School under the direction of Hubert Poell along with pupils and teachers of the Krems Music School, a film by music educator Veronika Großberger, a panel discussion about the future of the Ernst Krenek Forum, the modular synthesizer by Don Buchla from Krenek’s estate, the Ernst Krenek Ensemble, and much more.
